Before you get started with creating content, building courses, adding people and navigating Cognise - let's cover some of the basics.
All users first arrive at their user dashboard where they will be welcomed and can also view the Welcome video shown here. Let's take a quick video tour of the user dashboard.
Roles and Permissions
Depending on your user permissions, you may see none, or upto three role switches at the bottom of the main menu. Every Member [means same as User] has standard user access.
The permissions for a member will be one of:
User: there is no switch - they are only a member. Typically this is a staff member.
User + Manager: they can switch between User, and Manager. Managers have people who report to them, can assign learning, review tasks and insights, can create members, create groups, and access reports.
User + Admin: they can switch between Admin, and User. Admins manage Cognise.
User + Manager + Admin: This user can switch between all three permission sets.
Note: there are two levels of Admin. Creator and System Admins. System Admins can access Config and create other admins, venues, custom fields, and other setup options.

Member Dashboard
The user dashboard display Current learning. This includes learning in progress, event registrations, and assigning learning [and not started].
The Following tab displays any resources favorited, along with any learning the user has expressed interest.
Past Activity displays prior learning.
