Getting your Cognise underway
Cognise is designed so everything is simple and rapid. it's the same for setting up Cognise to use it. Just follow the simple steps and you will be underway quickly.
Company Setup
The Company Setup screen has key information which is covered below..
Name
This is the name of the organisation which is shown in various places and communications.
Sign in / Sign Up Options
Allow Sign Up by anyone - when checked means anyone with the url can create a profile. This is not an option when SSO is enabled.
Use rapid password authentication - if unchecked anyone added needs to verify their password within the email received [additional security step], otherwise username and password only. This is not an option when SSO is enabled.
Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enable 2FA for users - when checked means Multi Factor Authentication is enabled and it is optional for any user. It will display the second option which will be unchecked by default.
Require 2FA for all users - Once this appears, if then ticked all users will be forced to setup 2FA.
Notifications
Send Automated Email Notifications - turning off means no system generated notifications are sent.
Send Event Emails from Trainers - this will list the trainer as the from address.
Permissions
Allow Members to become managers by default - when checked it means a profile has 'Allowed manager' ticked when they are created. When a profile has direct reports this automatically makes them a manager role in Cognise and grants them Manager access. If it is turned off in config it just means new users created have this field unchecked. It can be turned on and off at a user profile by admin.
Allow only admins to see Let's Create - when checked standard members, and managers do not see the Let's Create button and page.
Allow members to submit prior external learning requests - this displays under edit profile and when Let's Create is turned off this secondary location when enabled still allows the member to make the request type.
Allow members to submit future external learning requests - this displays under edit profile and when Let's Create is turned off this secondary location when enabled still allows the member to make the request type.
On the right side is information like the Account ID, the Cognise URL for your company and the Support Email that users can send messages directly to Cognise.
